Prime Bank Investment PLC. (PBIL), a full-fledged investment bank and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Prime Bank PLC, and Equiline Finance, an Abu Dhabi–based impact-driven investment and project-financing company, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance cross-border strategic cooperation for sustainable project finance in Bangladesh.

The MoU was signed on 20 July 2026. On behalf of Equiline Finance, the agreement was signed by Mr. Salah Al Nasser, Chief Executive Officer of Equiline Finance and Chairman of Faminas Investment Group; and on behalf of PBIL, by Mr. Syed M Omar Tayub, Managing Director & CEO of Prime Bank Investment PLC., in the presence of senior representatives of both institutions.

The partnership comes at a time when Equiline Finance has publicly articulated a broader investment vision for Bangladesh, with an initial interest of more than US$2.0 billion in government-backed infrastructure and development projects across energy, transport, healthcare, ports and logistics, agriculture and agro-processing, waste and water management, tourism, digital infrastructure and related priority sectors. Within that development agenda, PBIL is poised to serve as Equiline’s local partner, supporting bankability and structuring, and facilitating capital market and advisory pathways for suitable projects.

Mr. Syed M Omar Tayub, Managing Director & CEO of Prime Bank Investment PLC., stated: “Bangladesh continues to attract serious international capital for infrastructure, energy transition and sustainable development. This MoU positions PBIL as a trusted local partner to Equiline Finance; bridging global financing capability with domestic market knowledge, regulatory reach and investment banking execution. Our focus is to help convert strategic interest into bankable, well-structured opportunities that can mobilise long-term capital for impact-driven projects.”

Mr. Salah Al Nasser, Chief Executive Officer of Equiline Finance, said: “Bangladesh offers strong fundamentals and a clear development agenda. Partnering with PBIL strengthens our local interface for project origination, structuring and market execution as we explore high-impact investments across priority sectors. We see this cooperation as an important step in building a durable platform for sustainable and structured finance in Bangladesh.”

PBIL brings 16 years of investment banking experience in Bangladesh, with capabilities across debt and equity capital markets, portfolio management, trustee services and corporate advisory, and a track record of executing capital market transactions for leading financial institutions and corporates.
Equiline Finance connects governments, developers and investors to long-term sustainable finance through structured project and export finance, impact and sustainable investment solutions, capital structuring, risk solutions, bankability advisory, M&A and institutional liaison.

The partnership is expected to reinforce Bangladesh’s connectivity with UAE and broader regional capital, support the bankability of priority development projects, and contribute to a more structured pathway for foreign investment engagement in the country’s capital market and infrastructure financing
